Native Bombay
Native Bombay, nestled in the historic Ballard Estate and set within a 143-year-old former ice factory, is a vibrant homage to the ever-evolving culinary landscape of Mumbai. The interiors strike a balance between heritage charm and contemporary warmth, with exposed brick walls, wooden panels, and sun-dappled tables that invite both intimate dinners and lively gatherings. The space is thoughtfully designed to foster a sense of community, with family tables for sharing, high stools by the bar, and cosy nooks lining the windows—each corner echoing the city’s spirit of inclusivity and nostalgia.
The menu at Native Bombay is a dynamic tapestry of flavours, celebrating the city’s diverse influences while spotlighting indigenous ingredients and regional techniques. Chef Bhairav Singh’s creations are playful yet rooted in tradition—think Black & Red Puffed Rice ‘Bhel’ Salad with avocado and lime, Kathal Ghee Roast with Thalanadu cloves, and Pink Pearl Fish Tikka marinated in pomegranate juice. Small plates like Maska Prawns—giant prawns in spicy jaggery chutney and Kashmiri rose butter sauce—set the tone for a meal that’s both bold and comforting. Large plates traverse the subcontinent: Kafuli Paneer in winter spinach and fenugreek, Gymkhana Chopped Steak, and Lobster with Cognac served with fresh baguette. Signature breads like Chur Chur Naan pair perfectly with slow-cooked Dal Makhani, while desserts such as Baklava Cheesecake and Bread Pudding provide a sweet, inventive finish. The bar, known for its creative cocktails such as Frosty Copper Coil, Rustic Wall, Ice Factory and more, is each an incarnation of the space itself, where you can taste parts of the establishment in every sip.
The Brasserie, Hilton Mumbai
For those who love variety and quality, The Brasserie at Hilton Mumbai offers an extensive buffet and à la carte menu for those who want to indulge in the rich North Indian cuisine. We were blown away by the Nalli Nihari Ramen, which was the perfect balance of flavour, spice and meat. Followed by Korean Lamb Cutlet, Achari Jhinga, Jardaloo Salli Boti and rice – each of them carried a unique take on the chef’s view of the North. The cocktails were pleasantly refreshing.
Kyma: The Summer Menu
Located at One, BKC – Kyma is currently running its Vietnamese Summer Menu, which has a lot to do with the culture of Vietnam and Mangoes. This new menu is an ode to the cities of this Asian beauty. From Saigon’s lively streets to the tranquillity of Ha Long Bay, the dishes are a combination of creativity, passion, authenticity and tropical magic. We tried the Canh Chua Chay (a pho mango soup that consisted of chunks of pineapple, okra, mango tofu and cherry tomatoes) and trust us, the choices paired extremely well. Moving on to Banh Bot Loc Nhan (duck dumplings, which were minced goodness), Banh Mi Pate, salmon tarts, pickle vegetables and a mango salad. The flavour of salmon came through strongly; however, when mixed with the salad, it made it tangy and refreshing. The Tom Hum Sot Xoai (lobster in a mango coconut gravy) had that tangy and flavourful after-taste. We wrapped up with the Mango Coconut. The new menu was everything we expected and more. We suggest you book your tables now to experience the best of Vietnam.
Celini, Grand Hyatt
Celini at the Grand Hyatt Mumbai invites guests to indulge in refined Italian cuisine with a summer menu that highlights fresh, seasonal ingredients. From starters like Cipolle Borretane in Agrodolce and Almond-stuffed olives to mains such as Spinach & Ricotta Cannelloni and Truffle Mashed Potatoes, every dish is crafted with care and authenticity. The elegant setting complements the food, making it perfect for both intimate dinners and festive gatherings.
Juniper – Grand Hyatt
Juniper, now in Grand Hyatt, deserves mention for its innovative approach to cocktails, especially gin-based creations. With over 40 home-infused gins and a menu that features fresh herbs and juices, it offers a refreshing and creative drinking experience. Their signature drinks, like the Mezcal Negroni, showcase the bar’s dedication to originality and quality, making it a must-visit for cocktail enthusiasts.
Loya, The Taj Mahal Palace
Loya at The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, is a captivating ode to North Indian heritage, where the interiors themselves tell a story of timeless elegance and rustic charm. The space is thoughtfully designed to evoke the vibrant bazaars and rugged landscapes of northern India, featuring grand arches, intricate stone jaalis, and earthy, sandy beige walls that reflect the region’s natural beauty. Natural boulders and a cascading waterfall at the bar courtyard bring the spirit of Himalayan springs indoors, while cosy logwood furniture inspired by traditional Indian rotis and sweets adds warmth and comfort. Ornate brass lanterns and colourful drapes create a nostalgic yet refined ambience, enhanced by a curated soundtrack blending traditional folk tunes with modern rhythms. The open kitchen, visible behind glass screens, invites diners to witness the artistry behind age-old cooking techniques like dhungar (smoking) and dum (slow-cooking), making every moment at Loya feel immersive and authentic.
The culinary journey at Loya is equally enchanting, celebrating the rich, diverse flavours of North India through a menu that revives forgotten recipes and regional cooking methods. From the vibrant starters like Loya Chaat and Maash Ki Tikki to smoky mains such as Shinwari Murg and Sigdi Macchi, each dish is crafted with passion and precision, inviting guests to savour the communal spirit of a traditional feast. Vegetarians are treated to specialities like Shakahari Saanjha Kebab and hearty seasonal dishes like Kafuli Saag, while meat lovers can indulge in delicacies like Gosht Ke Lazeez Pasliyan and Kangra Khodiyar Gosht. Complementing the food is Loya’s innovative cocktail menu, ‘Paanch,’ inspired by the cultural significance of the number five and divided into five thoughtfully curated sections. Signature drinks like the Himalayan Mule, Gulab rose-cardamom vodka mix, and Mulethi-infused gin cocktail showcase bold regional ingredients and inventive mixology, perfectly capturing the essence of the North and elevating the dining experience to a multisensory celebration of heritage and flavour.
Inka Experience
Step into INKA and you’re immediately swept into a world of maximalist glamour and global intrigue. Designed by Minal Chopra, the restaurant’s interiors are a bold tapestry of patterns, textures, and sculptural elements—think dramatic lighting, tribal-inspired motifs, and a monochromatic palette of black and earthy tones accented with gold. Enormous floor lamps nearly touch the ceiling, mismatched chairs lend a playful edge to each table, and striking sculptures dot the space, creating a layered, immersive environment that feels both sophisticated and adventurous. The backlit bar stands as a visual centre piece, while the open-air mezzanine offers a breezy perch for pre- or post-dinner cocktails. Despite its location in a corporate park, INKA feels worlds away, blending indigenous and modern design to evoke the spirit of a far-flung holiday.
The culinary experience at INKA, led by Peruvian chef Kinyo Rodas Tristan, is a vibrant fusion of Peruvian and Asian influences, brought to life with premium ingredients and a dash of theatrical flair. The menu is divided into Mar (ocean), Montana (mountains), and Bosque (forest), with each section offering inventive dishes like Inti Smoked Tiradito, 48-hour Pork Belly, and Banana Flake Seabass—many of which are finished table-side with fire, dry ice, or nitrogen for a dose of molecular gastronomy. Sushi lovers will revel in maki rolls like Salmon Mar Maki and Avocado Truffle Maki, while mains range from Arroz del Mar, studded with seafood, to Udon Amazonico for plant-based dinners. The bar, helmed by Argentinian mixologist Dario Araujo, serves up Latin classics with an Asian twist—think Pisco Sours, daiquiris, and margaritas enlivened with Szechuan pepper, coconut, and cardamom. Each cocktail is crafted with drama and precision, perfectly complementing the bold, immersive flavours that define INKA’s one-of-a-kind dining adventure.
MumbaiBlondie
Blondie, nestled in Khar and brought to life by Bastian Hospitality, is Mumbai’s freshest answer to the city’s evolving café culture. The space immediately charms with its boho-chic, Bali-inspired interiors—think soothing sage greens, teal accents, and abundant natural light that create a tranquil yet uplifting atmosphere. Designed to feel aspirational but welcoming, Blondie transitions seamlessly from a peaceful morning coffee spot to a lively evening hangout, and even welcomes furry friends. The café’s community-driven ethos is reflected in its plans to host events around music, art, and wellness, making it as much a cultural hub as a culinary destination.
At the heart of Blondie is a devotion to exceptional brews and bold flavours. Led by Natasha Hemani and chef Shreya Aggarwal, the menu is both inventive and comforting: a first-of-its-kind matcha bar serves ceremonial-grade matcha from Kagoshima, Japan, in everything from classic lattes to playful creations like Dreamy S’mores Matcha and Mango Matcha Latte. Coffee lovers can choose from meticulously sourced beans, like Chikmagalur’s cask-aged whiskey barrel brew or Ethiopian single origins, prepared at the Slow Bar via V60, French Press, or AeroPress. The food menu surprises with gluten-free benne dosas topped with prawn thecha or avocado masala, and all-day breakfast favourites like Eggs Kejriwal and Carbonara Scramble. For a sweet finish, Blondie’s pastry counter offers modern French-inspired treats, from vegan tiramisu to indulgent cookie dough croissants, ensuring there’s something for the most discerning palate.
Muze Mumbai
Muze in Khar West is a bold new chapter in Mumbai’s culinary story, where Euro-Asian fusion is reimagined through the lens of personal travel and nostalgia. Conceived by Gen Z sisters Saloni and Anannya, the 2,900 sq. ft. restaurant is an exuberant blend of Art Deco glamour and playful Asian aesthetics—think deep jewel tones, geometric patterns, and whimsical animal motifs like flamingos and tigers. Designed by Designworkx, the interiors channel the energy of the Roaring Twenties, with radical lines and ambient lighting creating a layered, inviting space that feels both grand and intimate. Every detail, from the elevated diner seating to the Art Deco-inspired plating, mirrors the founders’ vision of a place where discovery and comfort coexist, making Muze as much a visual journey as a culinary one.
The menu at Muze is a vibrant passport to flavours and memories, where familiar dishes are given daring new identities under the guidance of Head Chef Thevar Chandrahasan Pandian. Here, carbonara swaps pasta for silky udon noodles, risotto gets a gochujang and seafood makeover, and pizzas are topped with sambal prawns and rocket leaves for a fiery finish. Even desserts break boundaries, with Vietnamese tiramisu marrying condensed milk coffee with Italian tradition. The cocktail program is equally inventive: signature drinks like the Muze di Gara (white rum, pineapple oleo, pickled ginger brine) and the Muze Style Negroni (coconut fat-wash Campari, pandan liqueur, gin) surprise with their layered flavours and playful presentation. At Muze, every dish and drink is a celebration of cities and moments that have inspired the founders—a dining experience that’s as adventurous as it is welcoming, inviting guests to embark on a journey where the rules are rewritten and every visit is a discovery.

Yauatcha
Set the tone for the day with a twilight ritual at Yauatcha (Mumbai and Kolkata outlets), as they launch their exclusive Yum Cha menu. An ode to the golden hour, it is known for its contemporary take on authentic Cantonese cuisine. We’re talking delicate dim sum selections like the Vegetable Chive Dumpling and the comforting Fried Turnip Cake that sits alongside non-vegetarian signatures such as the Chicken and Coriander Dumpling and Har Gau, each bite a study in texture, flavour, and finesse. To conclude, guests can choose between the decadent Chocolate Hazelnut Mousse or a dainty Macaron selection, paired with a calming pot of Jasmine Green Tea or Chamomile Flowers. Light yet indulgent, this one’s hot on our radar.

Moxy Sky
Moxy Sky offers a rooftop dining experience that’s as much about the atmosphere as it is about the food. Their menu features light bites, refreshing cocktails, and innovative mocktails designed to keep you cool while you enjoy panoramic city views. The lively music, chic décor, and open-air seating make it a hotspot for evening hangouts and weekend get-togethers.
Burma Burma – Festive Menu
Burma Burma stands out as India’s only Burmese speciality restaurant and tearoom, offering a vibrant celebration of Burma’s rich culinary heritage and cultural traditions. This April and May, the restaurant brings the spirit of the Thingyan Festival—Burma’s joyous New Year ‘Water Festival’—to Mumbai and other cities with a limited-edition menu inspired by the communal feasts and street food of Myanmar. The centrepiece is the Thingyan Tiffin Meal, a beautifully presented spread for two, served in a hand-crafted lacquered tiffin by Burmese artisans. True to the tradition of sharing, this meal features a medley of dishes: crunchy hand-tossed broad beans, a fried tofu sandwich, Palata with mock meatball curry, tofu and bottle gourd curry, jasmine rice with white peas and spicy stir-fried soybean, along with sides like pumpkin and bok choy stir fry, creamy cashew dip, and tangy tomato & preserved bean dip. The meal ends on a sweet note with a dessert box of classic Burmese confections, echoing the warmth and hospitality of a Burmese home during the festival.
The tearoom elevates the experience with an extensive selection of artisanal teas and nostalgia-laced ice creams, while the beverage menu features refreshing coolers, mocktails, and bubble teas. During the Thingyan Festival, guests can also enjoy a live Hawker’s Noodle Salad bar (our personal favourite), where an in-house hawker tosses up customised salads at your table, bringing the lively street food culture of Burma right to your dining experience.
