When you think of Prada, you might imagine fancy clothes and classic styles. However, the Spring/Summer 2025 collection, shown at Milan Fashion Week, took a bold leap. Imagine a groovy coat from the sixties that looks like it’s straight out of a time machine, paired with a bow-tie blouse from the eighties. Throw on some crazy alien hats and a shiny, studded skirt- That’s Prada’s SS25 for you.
Designers Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons turned the runway into a stage of playful experiments. This season, they invited us to step outside our fashion comfort zones and explore a world where clothes just don’t play by the rules. Imagine skirts hanging from belts (totally 1990s Prada vibes), oversized sunglasses that are double the model’s face, and hats that seem to have a personality. Well, you heard that right. The show, aptly named ‘Infinite Present,’ gave us a fun peek into the quirky side of high fashion like this.
Prada’s SS25 was a Stylish Arena of Unusual Designs
The SS25 collection was a visual feast, which truly served up a smorgasbord of styles. From the moment the first model stepped out, it was clear that this was no ordinary show. The designers opened with a floral strappy dress that felt both classic and futuristic. They wowed us with a stunning black dress decorated with metallic rings. Models strutted their stuff in skirts that seemed to float, suspended from belts, and pants that morphed from colorful tights. Some outfits even featured see-through holes that too with so many pockets.
Even the sunglasses they paired were wild and eye-catching—some with huge bug-like lenses, others shaped like snow goggles, and a few combined with bucket hats full of holes. These were just regular glasses that turned into something super cool.
Prada’s SS25 Collection Nostalgia Meets Innovation
While the collection pushed boundaries, it also paid homage to Prada’s iconic past. Remember those stacked brogue shoes from the SS21 collection? They’re back, now even taller and more striking. The classic Prada silhouette—boxy tops paired with slim pants—returned too, proving that sometimes, classic favorites are the best.
Miuccia Prada knows how to balance the innovation with a blast from the past. It’s obviously a tricky one, but they pulled it off with flair. The slouchy bomber jackets and trim polo shirts felt outrageously chic and comfortably familiar. Even as they played with distortion and surprise, the essence of Prada remained intact. Teaming up with co-creative director Raf Simons, Prada has rolled out a new collection that intends to remind us of humanity in a world where we’re bombarded by information and algorithms. Instead of sticking to a single theme, they decided to showcase individual outfits, each one a character in its own right reminding us that fashion should be fun, playful, and always a little bit daring.
