However, if you’re looking to enjoy the Sonar Mahabhoj, you have got to book a table at Pala, ITC Sonar to revel in the the traditional culinary delights, with live entertainment featuring fabulous Bengali delicacies such as Diamond Fish Fry, Kosha Mangsho, Golda Chingri, and Sandesh platter from 9th to 13th October.

Chef Shivaji Majumder, Executive Chef ITC Sonar explains, “This year, we’ve paid homage to the fish, which is considered auspicious in the Bengali community. From Mourola machh er tok, and Chitol machh er muittha to Katla Kalia and Pabda, the inclusion of fish is predominant on our menu this year. We also have Bengali classics like Kosha Mangsho, Calcutta special Chicken Chaap and Biryani. We’re also doing a Pora, Bata and Chokha counter.

Even in Asian food, we’re doing a Calcutta style (re: Hakka style) Chinese; there’s a touch of the “babu” culture and what the influential Rajbaris of North Calcutta indulged in, so a very Calcutta dominant menu.” he adds. Clearly, the Sonar Mahabhoj is unmissable.

We do not like to play favourites, but you can also sign up for an amazing culinary sojourn at Dum Pukht, a culinary haven famed for serving royal Awadhi dishes like Dum Pukht Biryani (you cannot miss this) the softest Kakori Kebab EVER, Jhinga Dum Nisha, and Shahi Nehari and more.
