If you’re a Disney aficionado and like to keep up with everything mouse-eared, mark your calendars for 2025! Disney is bringing even more of its signature magic to Asia with its newest cruise line—Disney Adventure. Following in the footsteps of its already successful fleet, including the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, and Disney Fantasy ships, Disney Adventure will further expand the brand’s global footprint in the cruising world, adding Southeast Asia to its portfolio.

Setting sail from Singapore, where the Singapore Tourism Board and Disney Cruise Line have formed a five-year partnership, the first voyage will depart from Marina Bay Cruise Centre starting in December. Sharon Siskie, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Disney Cruise Line, announced in a much-anticipated press release, “Our goal with the Disney Adventure is to bring the magic of Disney Cruise Line to Asia for the very first time. When the Disney Adventure sets sail in December 2025, guests throughout Southeast Asia will have the opportunity to experience the magic of their favorite Disney, Pixar, and Marvel stories in their very own backyard.”

Prepare for a magical voyage that will be exciting not only for the sprinkles of fairy dust but for the records this maiden voyage will break. As Disney’s largest cruise ship yet, this 208,000 gross ton vessel will accommodate approximately 6,000 passengers. It will also feature the world’s longest roller coaster at sea, all while sailing on a ship powered by green methanol—a first for the industry.

Destination Disney

Leaving from Singapore, this cruise is setting sail with one destination in mind: Disney! The enchanting ship is the first and final destination, with no ports of call for the 3- or 4-night trips. Instead of leaving for excursions off-board, guests can explore seven uniquely themed areas to inspire even the Grumpiest of the Seven Dwarfs. Each special area is inspired by fan-favorite characters, with excitement around every corner, including: Disney Imagination Garden, Disney Discovery Reef, Toy Story Place, Marvel Landing, Wayfinder Bay, San Fransokyo Street, and Town Square.

Sarah Fox, Vice President and Regional GM of Disney Cruise Line Southeast Asia, explained, “Sailing on primarily three- and four-night voyages designed with only dedicated days at sea, the ship will include something for everyone. From fun and interactive spaces for kids to relaxing venues for adults to unwind, to entertaining and engaging places for families to enjoy together, guests will find endless adventures from bow to stern.” The short and sweet trips are the perfect length for families looking to share some Disney magic outside of the Disney park locations and for adults looking for an enchanting new experience.

Foodies Set Sail

Fun is clearly on the agenda, but one of the most exciting and impressive features of the new cruise is the nod to foodie culture, with more than 20 different restaurants and bars for guests to enjoy. With more than just your typical Mickey-themed ice creams and waffles, the ship is taking onboard dining seriously with two premium restaurants, rotational dining with three different categories (entertainment restaurants, animation restaurants, traditional table-service dinners), and adult-only bars.

Disney knows its audience, and Sarah Fox explains that while the cuisine will feature something for everyone, there will be nods to “consumers in this region [who] have a strong affinity for Disney, and we are thrilled to offer a cruise vacation that blends Disney’s signature service with unique Asian experiences.” Our prediction is that guests will be heading straight to Mike & Sulley’s – Flavors of Asia to try the Japanese steakhouse, teppanyaki grill, Omakase bar, and sushi.

Adults-Only Adventures

If you are a self-proclaimed “Disney Adult” or just want to know that you can sneak away for some R&R while aboard the ship, have no fear. Disney is dedicated to making core memories for passengers of all ages. For the youngest sailors to teens, Disney Cruise Line’s signature spaces for kids will give those from six months to 17 years a space to have fun while supervised by Disney-trained counselors. While the kids are busy, adults can enjoy some pampering. The spa offers a range of services, including massages, facials, and acupuncture. Unwind with aromatherapy in the Rainforest area, work out in the fitness center, or grab a drink at one of the adult-only bars and lounges, including Tiana’s Bayou Lounge, Spellbound, Buccaneer Bar, and Taverna Portorosso.

For a romantic date night at sea, enjoy adult-only dining at Mike & Sulley’s – Flavors of Asia or Palo Trattoria, an Italian restaurant inspired by the dream sequence in Pixar’s Luca. The celestial decor at Palo Trattoria creates a truly unforgettable atmosphere. If your mouth is watering, mark your calendar, as bookings for the Disney Adventure is now open.
