Some journeys stay with you long after you’ve returned home, not just as memories, but as a feeling. Our stay at Heritage Village Resort & Spa in Arossim, Goa, was one of those journeys; a tapestry woven in luxury, culture, and genuine connection.

From the moment we arrived, stepping into a world of whitewashed Portuguese architecture, terracotta roofs, and vibrant bougainvillaea, we knew we were in for something special.

A Sanctuary of Comfort and Style

Our room was more than just a place to rest; it was a sanctuary. Sunlight flooded the space, illuminating the intricately carved wooden furniture and colourful textiles that echoed Goa’s rich heritage. The balcony became our favourite spot for morning coffee, overlooking a landscape of lush gardens and the sparkling swimming pool. Daily housekeeping kept everything immaculate, and thoughtful touches like a welcome tray of wine and dried fruits made us feel truly pampered.

Rejuvenation at Aruna Spa: A Journey of the Senses

No stay at Heritage Village feels complete without a visit to the serene Aruna Spa, where we experienced their signature Gold Facial, a treatment that perfectly balances indulgence with effective skincare. From the moment the session began, it was clear this wasn’t just a facial, but a carefully curated ritual designed to rejuvenate both skin and spirit.

What started as a relaxing massage turned into a rejuvenating experience. The warm, soothing massage techniques used to work the mask into the skin were deeply relaxing, targeting areas of tension and promoting circulation. The subtle glow of the gold particles combined with the calming ambience created a truly luxurious experience.

A Culinary Paradise: Five Restaurants, Endless Delights

Bonita: A Symphony of Flavours

Day two evening at Bonita felt like stepping into a chic European bistro, right in the heart of Goa. The restaurant’s ambience was both elegant and inviting, with soft lighting, contemporary décor, and the gentle hum of live music that set the perfect mood for a memorable meal. The menu is a celebration of modern European cuisine, and each dish we tried reflected a thoughtful balance of sophistication and comfort.

We started with the Chargrilled Prawns, which arrived perfectly cooked, their natural sweetness enhanced by a subtle smoky char and a zesty citrus marinade. The Lump Crab Spaghetti was another standout-delicate strand of pasta tossed in a creamy, flavourful sauce, generously studded with fresh, sweet crab meat. Every bite was rich yet balanced, clearly showcasing the chef’s creativity and passion for quality ingredients. The Bonita Fish and Chips and the Lamb Birria Tacos, both of which were executed with finesse and flair, were the highlights. The attentive staff and a refreshing cocktail list made our evening truly unforgettable.

Chutney: A Taste of Tradition

Chutney became our go-to spot for both leisurely breakfasts and lavish dinners. The restaurant’s décor is a beautiful nod to Goa’s tropical and Portuguese heritage, with patio-style seating that lets you soak in the relaxed, breezy vibe. The buffet and à la carte options offer a journey through Indian and international cuisines, but it was the regional specialities that truly stole our hearts.

We found ourselves returning for the Goan prawn curry, with its creamy coconut base and perfectly balanced spices, and the Kerala-style appams served with a rich, aromatic stew. Each dish was a celebration of local flavours, prepared with an authenticity that spoke to the chef’s roots. Even the simplest items like freshly baked bread and homemade pickles were packed with flavour. Chutney’s menu is designed to please every palate, making it the perfect place to gather, share, and savour the essence of Indian hospitality.

Mama Miso: An Asian Culinary Adventure

When we craved something different, Mama Miso delivered a delightful escape to the Far East. The restaurant’s contemporary, minimalist décor set the stage for a meal that was as visually stunning as it was delicious. We began with an assortment of sushi, each of which was meticulously crafted, the fish fresh and the rice seasoned just right. The dim sum selection was equally impressive, with delicate wrappers encasing savoury fillings that burst with umami.

What set Mama Miso apart was the attention to detail in both presentation and taste. The dipping sauces, the garnishes, and even the plating felt intentional and artful. The staff were knowledgeable, eager to recommend pairings and explain the nuances of each dish. Dining at Mama Miso was more than just a meal; it was an experience-a journey through Asia’s vibrant culinary traditions, right in the heart of Goa.

Poolside Bliss: Blue Lagoon Bar and Pool Sunken Bar

The Blue Lagoon Bar, located by the pool, was the perfect place to unwind with handcrafted cocktails. But our most memorable evenings were spent at the Pool Sunken Bar, sipping on specially curated frozen cocktails while immersed in the cool water as the sun dipped below the horizon.

The Heart of Heritage Village: Warmth and Hospitality

What made our stay truly special was the exceptional service. The staff’s genuine warmth and attention to detail made us feel like cherished guests. From the freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast to the thoughtful recommendations for local excursions, every interaction was a delight. As pet lovers, we were thrilled that our furry friend was welcomed with open arms, making our stay complete.

Heritage Village Resort and Spa exceeded our expectations. It’s not just a place to stay; it’s a destination to savour, connect with loved ones, and create lasting memories. If you’re seeking a blend of luxury, culture, and heartfelt hospitality in Goa, this is an experience you wouldn’t want to miss.
