Jaguar has just revealed its boldest concept car yet, and it’s turning heads everywhere. At Miami Art Week, the luxury carmaker showed off the Jaguar Type 00, a futuristic electric car that’s as much a piece of art as a vehicle.
Dubbed “Type Zero Zero,” it is sleek, dramatic, and unapologetically extra. Jaguar is stepping into a new era with a philosophy they’re calling “Exuberant Modernism.”
The designs are bold, fearless, and one-of-a-kind. The Type 00 (pronounced Type Zero Zero) is their way of proving it. Jaguar’s mantra, “Copy Nothing,” dates back to its founder, Sir William Lyons, and Type 00 brings that ethos to life.
What Makes the Type 00 Special?
The Jaguar Type 00 doesn’t look like your typical electric vehicle. It features a long bonnet, a fastback roofline, and massive 23-inch alloy wheels. It also has a glassless tailgate and panoramic roof with body-coloured glazing.
Its design takes inspiration from Jaguar’s legendary E-Type but pushes it into the future. The car comes in two striking colours: Miami Pink, a nod to the city’s iconic Art Deco style, and London Blue, a tribute to Jaguar’s British roots.
Inside, the Type 00 is just as impressive. Open the butterfly doors, and you’ll find an interior that feels more like an art exhibit than a car. The cabin uses unique materials like brass, natural stone, and woven textiles. A 3.2m-long brass spine runs through the center of the car, while stone accents and luxurious fabrics add a touch of elegance. Materials include:
- Travertine stone, used for plinth-like bases.
- Brass accents, aged to give a unique rose hue.
- Tactile woven textiles, inspired by hand-spun yarns.
Even the roof is special—it creates patterns of light inside the car that change throughout the day. Technology in the Type 00 is next-level. Hidden screens glide out silently, storage spaces open with the touch of a button, and everything can be customized to suit your mood. There’s even a feature called the Prism case, where you can place different materials to adjust the car’s lighting, sounds, and even its scent.
What’s More?
Built on their brand-new Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA) platform, this car is the start of something big. The first production model, a sleek four-door electric GT, is hitting the streets in late 2025. The performance is absolutely insane. You’re looking at a range of up to 770km (478 miles) on the WLTP cycle or 692km (430 miles) with EPA standards. Plus, if you’re in a hurry, just 15 minutes of rapid charging will get you an extra 321km (200 miles). Jaguar is also rethinking how customers experience their brand. They’re planning exclusive stores in luxury locations worldwide, starting with Paris. These stores will offer a premium, personalized experience for their clients.
Why Does It Matter?
Jaguar wants to bring back the excitement and artistry it was known for in its early days. With the Type 00, they’re making a bold statement that their future cars will be more than just transportation—they’ll be works of art. CEO Adrian Mardell called it the “E-type for the electric age.” Big words, but this car might just deliver.
